Finally, Avatar Sequels Have Confirmed Release Dates

Avatar
By now, I am pretty sure that most, if not all, movie fans would have watched, at least once, the 2009 masterpiece of visionary director, James Cameron's Avatar. When it first released, it broke plenty of records and remain the top-grossing movie of all time in the global box office with a whopping $2.8 billions.

Sequel has been in talk for years. Finally, James Cameron and 20th Century Fox have confirmed the release date(s) of the four sequels (yes, not only 1 but 4 sequels) as follows:

Avatar 2 - 18th December 2020
Avatar 3 - 17th December 2021
Avatar 4 - 20th December 2024
Avatar 5 - 19th December 2025

The good news is (at least to me), according to the director, each of the four sequels will be able to stand alone, but will together create a saga. Sounds a lot like a Star Wars franchise right? lol

We still need to wait far another 3 more years before movie fans go "crazy" again. Meanwhile, I will focus on another successful Marvel movie franchise, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, which will be released next week.

Cheers!

Star Wars The Last Jedi - Latest Trailer : Even The Casts Are Surprised With It!

Star Wars the last jedi poster
YES! The latest trailer of Star Wars The Last Jedi (December 2017) is finally here!

It was premiered at the Star Wars Celebration on Friday, audience and casts are seeing it for the first time. For the Star Wars fans, I believed this latest trailer will satisfy your thirst for the time being and you will be asking for more.... answers!

Especially on why Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) saying this :

"It's time for Jedi....... to end"
Since this is the first time that the casts are seeing it too, some of them are equally shocked by the trailer, example (extracted from Yahoo Movies) :

Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker): “It’s funny. They play tricks on us a lot, where they withhold a line or two to preserve the surprise.”

Daisy Ridley (Rey) : “The way it ends with what Luke says… Everybody was like, ‘Oh my gosh, what’s going on?'”

For the complete list of casts' response, check out the Yahoo Movies' article here

Now! Check out the Star Wars The Last Jedi Trailer below :

Breathe... Just Breathe. Now... Reach Out!!!

What do you think about the trailer? Feel free to comment below.

2017 Worldwide Box Office (As At 13 Apr 2017)

Beauty and the beast
One of the key parameters to determine the success of a movie is to look at its ticket sales or box offices. Besides the key US market, there is a need to take into consideration of the international markets as well. Hence, Box Office Mojo came out with the list of 2017 Worldwide Box Office, which they will be updated promptly.

Of course, 2017 is still long way to go but I thought it is a good idea to share what are the Top 10 list at the moment (First Quarter of 2017). I believed the Number 1 movie (Beauty and the Beast) is of no surprise but there are a couple of surprise entrance, especially those non-Hollywood movies.

Now, check out the list below:

From the list, which is/are you most unexpected movies? For me, it is Resident Evil - The Final Chapter

Cheers!

Transformers The Last Knight - Latest Trailer (June 2017)

Transformers The Last Knight
Hot from oven! New trailer of the latest heavy metal franchise, Transformers - The Last Knight is finally here! Looks like Optimus Prime is following the path of Dom (Vin Diesel) in The Fate Of The Furious, turning "rogue"!

From the trailer, it looks like it will be another loud, blastful and special effect-rich follow-up. One thing to take note is that this is the first movie to be shot in the latest technology of IMAX native format, so, can consider watching it in IMAX when it is released in big screen in JUne 2017.

Now, seat back and enjoy the trailer..

Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼之鍊金術師) - Upcoming Live Action Movie (Dec 2017)

Fullmetal Alchemist
If you are a Japanese Manga fan, I am sure you will know the popular Manga by Hiromu Arakaw, Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼之鍊金術師). The good news is, it has been adapted into a live-action movie directed by Fumihiko Sori and starring Ryôsuke Yamada, Tsubasa Honda, and Dean Fujioka.

Brief synopsis is as follows:

"Two alchemist brothers go on a quest for the Philosopher's Stone after an attempt to revive their dead mother goes horribly wrong."

It is still too early to say whether it would be a promising or disappointing adaptation as it will only be released in Japan in December 2017. Also, we are not sure whether it will be released in Singapore yet but high chance that it will.

Finger crossing...

Meanwhile, let's take a look at the trailers:

Ghost In The Shell - Promotional Display Boards In Singapore (1)

This week, the highly anticipated live action movie adaptation of the popular Japanese manga/anime, Ghost In The Shell (leading by Black Widow, I mean Scarlett Johansson, as Major). Basing on the early estimation by Boxoffice Mojo, it would not top the US box office chart over the weekend. In fact, Beauty and the Beast looks set to lead the pack for the third week!

Anyway, the focus of this post is not to dwell too much into the details of the movie, instead, I am creating this blog series to share some of the special movie display boards or promotional giant posters that caught my eye. Naturally, for the first post of this series, the theme is on the movie, Ghost In The Shell.

Without further ado, following are the 2 display boards that I've chanced upon recently:
