Singapore Movie Tickets Comparison At A Glance (As At April 2017)

Even though Singapore is just a little red dot on the map and with just about 5.7 millions population, we are never spoilt for choice when comes Singaporean's favourite pastime - watching movies. There are many cineplexes scattered across Singapore and mostly are from the following BIG 4 cinema chains :
1. Golden Village
2. Shaw
3. Cathay
4. Filmgarde

Also, the movie ticket pricing structure are not standard across the board. Hence, at times it might be quite confusing. Fret not, I've done up a simple movie tickets comparison table for you.

The focus is on the standard 2D and 3D formats, I've intentionally excluded the special formats like D-Box, IMAX etc.. for comparison as they are not apple to apple comparison.

Hope this is helpful for you...

Conclusions:
1. Cathay Cineplex generally has a simpler pricing structure.
2. If you are watching newly released movies from Monday to Thursday, Cathay Cineplex is cheaper.
2. If you are watching newly released movies from Friday to Sunday (include Eve and Public Holidays), Filmgarde is more expensive.

Of course, there are a couple of credit/debit cards promotion around, but that will be for another post.

Cheers!
